Thursday: Grade Colors

This Thursday is going to be an action-packed day, with over 2000 points up for grabs - the most of any day in spirit week! The points-bonanza will begin with the judging of each grade’s commons decorations immediately after tefillah. Then, at 11:15 with a school-wide meeting in the theater, where each grade will perform their skit and song, which are worth 800 and 500 points, respectively. A good result in one or both of these events is almost a necessity to win spirit week, so be ready to see each grade at their very best!

The prompt for this year's skit is: “A holiday is being celebrated at JCHS, but the school needs to unite to create enough school spirit!”. Each grade has come up with their own unique holiday; The freshman have chosen Thanksgiving, the sophomores went with Pesach. The Juniors chose Purim, while the Senior’s theme is New Years. With a wide variety of holidays, the skits are going to be an exciting watch!

After the skit and song, there are still more points up for grabs in games during lunch! At 12:25, the 4 square tournament will begin in the courtyard, and 5 minutes later, at 12:30, a Go Fish Tournament will commence next door in the commons. Next, at 12:35 there will be a paper airplane tossing competition, making for a potentially thrilling windy toss-off. The spirit week events for this year will then come to a close with the much-anticipated Tug-of-War competition beginning at 12:40. So far this spirit week has been incredible. Looking forward to one more action packed day before an eventual winner is crowned on Friday at lunch.
