Zion Journey '19: From Vegas to the Canyons

Zion Journey '19: From Vegas to the Canyons

There are huge rocks and mountains that are all different shades of reds and browns. The view almost looks unreal.
— Sarrah Wilkes

The sophomores got off to an early start yesterday morning as we all descended to Las Vegas. After a short and crowded flight, we landed and had a couple of hours to walk around Las Vegas with our friends.

We all had an amazing time and saw many things such as the Bellagio Hotel, the “Eiffel Tower”, and the beautiful Bellagio Fountains along with much more. Once our time in Vegas was done, we were ready to get on the bus and head to Springdale, Utah. After a rather long and tiring four hour bus ride, we all got settled into our hotel rooms and then had dinner followed by meeting with our tribes.

The view at the Quality Inn is beautiful. There are huge rocks and mountains that are all different shades of reds and browns. The view almost looks unreal. After we met with our tribes, we then all changed into warmer clothes and got on the bus to go stargazing which was cold, but beautiful. We then all went into our rooms and got our much needed rest after a long day.

Today, depending on what group we are in, we are going either hiking, rock climbing, or canyoneering on the beautiful mountains of Zion National Park. For today, I am going rock climbing with my group. We are all very excited for the day ahead!
